FELT APPLIQUE & JEWELED FELT

Simply put, felt applique is the art of applying felt pieces onto a larger canvas of felt to create a picture or design such as Christmas stockings, tree skirts, home decor, calendars, etc..  In jeweled felt applique--most often used for calendars, wallhangings, banners--sequins and beads are also applied.  the project is assmbled either by sewing the applique pieces onto the main piece or by using a good crafts glue.  The glue will also work for attaching sequins and beads.  I do recommend stitching major seams with thread, as in Christmas stockings and tree skirts.  This is a fun technique that crafters of all ages and abilities can enjoy.
